Warren Buffett considers the newspapers “indispensable”

In an interview to the website Observatório de Imprensa, the North American investor Warren Buffett – the third richest person in the world and one of the 15 most influential personalities, according to Forbes magazine – considered that newspapers continue to be indispensable to a significant portion of the population.

A few months ago, Buffet became the owner of his 28th title with the purchase of shares of the Washington Post. In recent decades, the investor has acquired a number of local newspapers, restructured companies, increased the price of the print edition and hopes to make a profit in five years.

According to some experts, the strategy also has a “sentimental” nature as Buffett was a paperboy in adolescence and is a faithful reader of five print publications.
