New digital Portuguese newspaper, “The Observer,” available later this year

Will be launched in the first half of this year the digital newspaper “The Observer“. Under the authority of the Social Democrats Alexandre Relvas e António Carrapatoso, this digital newspaper, from the editorial point of view, “defends the representative democracy, the market economy, such an open and global society”, according to the website. The guarantee is a newspaper “Independent”, “fruit of a new media group 100% Portuguese.”

Huffington Post launches new digital project

‘Word Post’ is the new journalistic project of Arianna Huffington, owner of the Huffington Post, and the billionaire Nicolas Berggruen, that will be launched in January.

The ‘Word Post’ will be an online journal, with international editions and will have as collaborators influents personalities in our society, such as, Tony Blair, Bill Gates or Eric Schmidt. The main idea is to give a global vision of topical issues, adding contributions from “heads of the state and big business men, such as unemployed in Spain or a student from Brazil”, as highlighter the owner, during the presentation of the project.

The website will replace the international webpage of Huffington Post.

The print edition of ‘La Gaceta’ has been closed

As of December 27th 2013, the spanish daily ‘La Gaceta’ ceased its print edition, keeping the newspaper in an online version.

Breaking sales and changes in the direction of the newspaper have dictaded the closure of ‘La Gaceta’, who belongs to Intereconomía Group.
