The Huffington Post debuted in Brazil

It was launched in Brazil Huffington Post. The Brazilian version comes with the name Brazil Post, an innovation compared to other foreign editions, as they keep the name Huffington.

According to the founder of the portal, Ariana Hiffington “Brazil is the perfect place for the Huffington Post extend your platform,” because it “Brazilians are sociable by nature, on the net and elsewhere.”

Brazil is the tenth country in which the Huffington Post is present.

Jornal Sénior ends publication

The last edition of Jornal Sénior was launched in the past 15 January, nine months after commenced business.

In declarations to the national newspaper “Público”, Mário Zambujal, director of Jornal Sénior, explain that “is a question of financial sustainability”, stating that would be needed  more two or three  years for the project become viable.

Was a biweekly periodicity newspaper and had the cover price of 95 cents.

“Expresso” will have a digital edition

The weekly newspaper “Expresso” will launch by the end of the first half of 2014, a daily digital edition to subscribers.

According to Ricardo Costa, director of Expresso newspaper print edition, “the launch of a daily edition is one of the greatest transformations in the history of the newspaper, either for writing or for newspaper readers.” He adds that this digital edition is “an absolutely necessary transformation to the future of the newspaper and journalism has always done and that we will finish without losing our starting values: independence, credibility, innovation and freedom.”

The direction of this daily digital edition of the “Expresso” will be carried out by Pedro Santos Guerreiro, former director of Jornal de Negócios

Huffington Post launches new digital project

‘Word Post’ is the new journalistic project of Arianna Huffington, owner of the Huffington Post, and the billionaire Nicolas Berggruen, that will be launched in January.

The ‘Word Post’ will be an online journal, with international editions and will have as collaborators influents personalities in our society, such as, Tony Blair, Bill Gates or Eric Schmidt. The main idea is to give a global vision of topical issues, adding contributions from “heads of the state and big business men, such as unemployed in Spain or a student from Brazil”, as highlighter the owner, during the presentation of the project.

The website will replace the international webpage of Huffington Post.

Newsweek plans to return to paper

Newsweek_LogoLoNewsweek, the legendary American weekly magazine that ceased publication in printed format last year, plans to return to the paper format, according to a report of The New York Times.

After several months of experimenting with a new online format, will be published two paper editions in the months of January and February.

The model is based on a subscriptions system similar to The Economist.
