The newspaper’s O Crime was suspended. The last edition came out to the stalls on 5 February.
The director of the weekly, Miguel Curado, communicated by e-mail to reporters that the publication “would be suspended indefinitely and will undergo a deep restructuring.” With regard to late payments, these will also be put into day, despite “Do not talk about deadlines,” he wrote.
O Crime, about 30 years, was founded by Vera Lagoa, pseudonym of Maria Armanda Pires Falcão, who was also director of the newspapers O Sol and O Diabo, both from 1976.
