Of the 400 million originally earmarked for the provision and acquisition of equipment and services under the Technological Plan for Education (PTE), it was spent almost 60 million euros (16.12%) only in the ‘e.escolinha’ project, reveals an audit report of the Courtof Auditors to the PTE, published last week.
The same document states that ‘e.escolinha’ is from all of the projects, the one which has a lower rate of implementation, less than 50 percent, since it were only distributed 94,000 (37.64%) of the 250 000 Magalhães computers acquired by international tender in 2010.
As regards the distribution of equipment, the report concludes that “the system of monitoring and control was not always possible to obtain timely and updated information” and it was also observed a lack of inventory of the equipment received, among other logistical aspects.
