In an interview to ionline, Francisco José Viegas criticizes the use of computers in classrooms, saying that everything is a “new richness phase completely degrading: we started with the folly of technology in putting computers in schools, in 2007, just when the best U.S. public high schools have banned them from schools”.
Asked if the new technologies would affect education, José Viegas answered to the ionline that nowadays students can’t read because they have no time. “We, with the Magalhães computer, got that far. It’s all show”, says the journalist and writer who believes that the state and people should “invest more in culture, family and home”.
