Opening conference with Magz Hall

Magz Hall is a radio artist. Her sound work has been exhibited in many countries. With her work she explores “the artistic potential of radio and its use outside the conventional settings” (https://magzhall.wordpress.com/about/). A very promising conference will welcome all participants on 23th April!

Braga

braga

Braga is considered the third most important city in the country after Lisbon (capital) and Oporto. It is the main city of the Minho region and it is surrounded by the Spanish Galicia in the North and by the Douro river (the world's oldest wine region - home to the production of Port Wine) in the South. The closest international airport is in Oporto, some 45Km from Braga city centre (40 minutes drive via highway). The closest Spanish international airport is Vigo at 100km also connected by highway. Lisbon airport is 350 km from Braga.

NET Station Project

"NET Station: shaping radio for web environment" is a research project on the adaptation of traditional radio to the web. It is carried out at Communication and Society Research Centre (University of Minho) and is funded by FCT, the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.

CECS

ICS

The Communication and Society Research Centre is an organisation permanently dedicated to fundamental and applied research. It was founded in 2001 and is organised in three research groups: 1) Media and Journalism; 2) Cultural Studies; 3) Communication, Organisations and Social Dynamics. In 2008 it was acknowledged as an Excellent research centre by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
